Alysa Murphy LMHC IADC
As an Iowa Great Lakes Native, I am thrilled to be back in the area offering mental health counseling services. I bring a variety of experience with me, having worked in outpatient, inpatient, and school settings. Some areas I specialize in include: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use/addictions, family dynamics, life stages and transitions, and sport and performance psychology.
In my free time, you’ll often find me outside. Some activities I love include working in my garden, playing sports, boating, hiking, biking, and playing with my two sons, husband, and dog.
For self-care, I make sure to find time each day for exercise and music.
I am looking forward to helping you grow and change with whatever life has handed you and to unlock your full potential. My hope is to assist you in living a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
Rachel Wassenaar LISW
Rachel is an Iowa licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in social work. Rachel has worked in a hospital on a mental health unit with children and adults, volunteered at a domestic abuse shelter, been a first responder to sexual assaults, worked with children with intellectual disabilities, and has been doing therapy for the past 15 years.
“I feel privileged being someone people can share anything with, especially in difficult times,” said Rachel. “I see communication as an art; finding ways to help clients feel heard, validated while also working towards greater clarity of direction for care all in the time they are being seen with me. I am invested in my client’s growth and hope that they can leave feeling better then when they came.”
Rachel’s therapeutic approach is a non- judgmental, family centered approach. She is trained in Master’s level Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Lifespan Integration and uses aspects of CBT, DBT, EMDR and mindfulness therapy techniques.
